Time to Give Back
The IAASK Mobile Barbershop has a positive impact on every community we travel to, improving our client’s self-esteem, instilling pride and inspiring them to see themselves in a positive light. The uniqueness of IAASK is the mobile dynamic of our signature barbershop experience! The individuals we help are not required to leave their homes; we bring the barbershop to their front door. We offer consultations, a variety of products and services, and most importantly, a safe, sanitary, and comfortable mobile environment where every individual can feel pampered. Services range from shampooing and haircuts to scalp and hair treatments, hair regrowth coaching, protective styling, haircare maintenance and monthly makeovers at our local community nursing homes and rehabilitation centers!
And while the global COVID-19 pandemic has come and gone, its impact on low-income communities is still widely felt. There are still many seniors who find it difficult, relying solely on Medicaid’s Personal Needs Allowance (PNA, is the amount of monthly income a Medicaid-funded nursing home resident can keep of their personal income). Because room, board, and medical care are covered by Medicaid, most of an individual’s income goes towards the cost of nursing home care. PNA, which can be as low as $30 is intended to cover the nursing home resident’s personal expenses, not covered by Medicaid. This may include but is not limited to haircuts, hair care vitamins, and beauty maintenance, clothes, snacks and magazines. Sadly, personal grooming is often considered a luxury many just cannot obtain. IAASK is dedicated to creating a future where personal care and grooming are available to everyone, regardless of age or income but we can’t do it alone.
Mission
This year, we humbly invite YOUR business to become a sponsor and join us as we provide vouchers for hair washes, scalp treatments and massages, haircuts, and styling for our seniors. YOUR compassionate sponsorships and donations can help an elderly woman maintain her crown, or help an elderly man combat his psoriasis or dry skin.
Help IAASK continue bringing our Mobile Barbershop and makeover services to seniors and kids in need across the Tri-State area. IAASK and our collaborators appreciate your support and are registered as a 501(c)(3) so all YOUR sponsorships and donations are tax deductible. Donations can also be made in the form cash, checks or monthly pledges via debit or credit card.
Vision
It’s All About Seniors & Kids (IAASK), an established mobile barbershop and nonprofit organization, offering unisex on-site, on-demand haircuts, hair care maintenance, and styling. IAASK’s mission is to improve the self-esteem and sense of self-worth for community seniors and kids through personal care and grooming. IAASK focuses on working with patrons with mental and/or physical disabilities, those that are on the spectrum, and those unable to afford the simple grooming services many of us take for granted.
